APPLY ONLINE THROUGH RAVENNA

The application process begins by creating a Ravenna account profile. You can view and track deadlines for every required piece of the Sacred Heart application through a convenient checklist on the Ravenna portal. Please note the deadlines listed within each step as they do vary. A successful application will have every item checked off as “complete” once processed by our Admission Team.

 

STEP 1

Submit the Preliminary Application forms

By January 7, 2021

The following forms must be submitted through Ravenna by the January 7th deadline to confirm your interest in applying to Sacred Heart Schools. 

  • Preliminary application form and fee*
  • Parent/Guardian statement
  • Optional: Student Support Services application form

A child must meet the age requirement below by May 31st, 2021 in order to be an applicant to the corresponding program/grade level.  

  • Preschool, Year 1 (PS1) = 3 years old
  • Preschool, Year 2 (PS2) = 4 years old 
  • Kindergarten = 5 years old 

*Please note: if the application fee presents a financial hardship, please contact admission@shschools.org to request a waiver.

 

STEP 2

Explore SHS Through a Virtual Event 

October 2020 – January 2021 (optional, but recommended)

Experience Sacred Heart Schools first hand, online. We have offered a variety of virtual events this fall to help you learn what makes our community, “the second happiest place on earth.”  We invite you to visit our Virtual Events page to register for upcoming sessions. If you missed one, don’t worry! You can  visit our Video on Demand (VOD) Library (located at the bottom of the Virtual Events page) to find recordings of several events. 

Watch our virtual tours, student panels, and sharing sessions with our faculty about program specifics and topics that matter most to you. While we are not able to meet in person or bring you on to campus, our Admission Team is available to you and committed to guiding you through this transformative time and process. 

Lastly, be sure to register for our SHS Admission newsletter to receive timely calendar updates and stay in touch!

STEP 3

Sign up for a Parent/Guardian Interview

Register for October 2020 – February 28, 2021 

Schedule a virtual parent/guardian interview with a member of our Admission Team through Ravenna.  Preschool & Kindergarten interviews are scheduled for parents only and should last 30-40 minutes. In order to register for a parent interview, prospective families must first submit the preliminary application form and fee.

Please note:  We will provide an opportunity to interview in a language other than English, if desired.

STEP 4

Apply for Tuition Assistance

By February 1, 2021 (Optional)

We welcome all families who are interested to submit a FAST application. To learn more about the process, visit Tuition & Affordability.

STEP 5

Submit Teacher Evaluations

By February 5, 2021 (if applicable)

We ask that all applicants currently attending a school or day care program submit a teacher evaluation form to be completed by your child’s current teacher or program director through Ravenna. Note: This requirement is waived for children who have yet to attend school.

STEP 6

Schedule a Readiness Screening

Register for January or February 2021 (by appointment only)

We want to ensure that every child who enters our program is ready and set up to thrive. To assess readiness for our program, we require all Preschool & Kindergarten applicants to participate in an individual readiness screening. Children will engage virtually in age appropriate activities designed to assess preparedness and social emotional readiness.

Additional assessment information will be available by January 11.

We invite applicants who have complete applications to participate in a virtual assessment visit with our Lower School learning specialists and a member of our Admission Team. Registration will be open in Ravenna on January 11th.

A child must meet the noted age requirement by August 31st, 2021 in order to be an applicant to the corresponding program/grade level:

STEP 6

Standardized Testing is no longer a part of our Admission Process

SHS Admission will not request, accept or include the results of the ISEE in a prospective student’s file. Learn more.

Register for January 2020 – February 2021 (by appointment only)

Schedule a virtual interview with a member of the Sacred Heart faculty/staff to take place Jan-Feb. This 30-40 minute interview is intended for the applicant and their parents/guardians. In order to register for a parent interview, prospective families must first submit the preliminary application form and fee.

Interview registration will open through Ravenna on Friday, January 8, 2021 by 10am.

Please note:  We will provide an opportunity to interview in a language other than English, if desired.
